Ruth Burr Reedy

Drawing on over a decade of digital marketing experience (both in-house & agency-side), Ruth leads the team to drive client strategy forward.

What’s your favorite thing about working at UpBuild?

The people! We have such an awesome team – it’s wonderful to work with such smart people who care so much about their work. I’ve learned a lot from everyone here.

What would you consider your specialty at UpBuild?

People at UpBuild call me the “client whisperer” – I really enjoy helping the team become better client managers, and seeing the trust and long-term relationships that we can build with clients as a result.

What’s your favorite industry (or industries) to work with?

I think for me it’s less about the industry and more about the individual company. I love working with companies who are ready to get serious about SEO. So often in my career, I’ve worked with businesses who are suspicious of SEO, or think it might all be flimflam. To work with people who understand the value of what we do and are ready to join forces with us so we can drive that value – that’s my favorite kind of company to work with.

What is your favorite deliverable?

SEO Audits! SEO Audits have always been one of my favorite SEO tasks. There’s always at least one “Eureka!” moment where it’s like the site just breaks open in front of you, and you find the systemic issues that are keeping the site from being its best.

What are three fun facts you want the world to know?

1. I can tap dance! I took tap lessons all through middle school and high school.

2. In 2002, I was on an episode of Wheel of Fortune, paired with Seahawks running back Shaun Alexander for NFL Week.

3. My friends keep a running list of my “Ruthisms,” including “it’s called show business, not show friends” and “happiness comes through the pursuit of achievable goals.”

Finally, and most importantly: what’s your favorite GIF?
